You cannot be Catholic and vote Democrat!!

As a devout Catholic myself and one who not only has a great love for her faith, but also for politics, I have taken a great deal of time examining the Catholic faith and how to apply it to my daily life, especially when considering my voting habits.

As such, I have discovered that there is one issue in particular, that will NOT permit me to EVER vote Democrat...as I am sure most of you can guess that issue is abortion.

Abortion is considered to be an intrinsic evil and therefore can not ever be accepted. It is the killing of innocent life, which breaks the 5th Commandment, "Thou shalt not kill."

In his encyclical Evangelium Vitae, Pope John Paul II explains (#58):

"Among all the crimes which can be committed against life, procured abortion has characteristics making it particularly serious and deplorable. The Second Vatican Council defines abortion, together with infanticide, as an "unspeakable crime".54

“The moral gravity of procured abortion is apparent in all its truth if we recognize that we are dealing with murder and, in particular, when we consider the specific elements involved. The one eliminated is a human being at the very beginning of life. No one more absolutely innocent could be imagined. In no way could this human being ever be considered an aggressor, much less an unjust aggressor! He or she is weak, defenseless, even to the point of lacking that minimal form of defense consisting in the poignant power of a newborn baby’s cries and tears. The unborn child is totally entrusted to the protection and care of the woman carrying him or her in the womb. And yet sometimes it is precisely the mother herself who makes the decision and asks for the child to be eliminated, and who then goes about having it done.”

For those who aren't aware of it, the Democratic Party Platform states emphatically that they support a woman's "right to choose"...meaning, they support the murder of innocents for the sake "convenience" by women who are selfish enough to kill their own.

Yet many Catholics, sadly, believe that the Democratic party is the better "choice" because they claim to promote "social programs" to "help" the unfortunate...but tell me...how can they be taken seriously when they are willing to allow the murder of the youngest and most innocent amongst us?

And how can ANY Catholic believe that providing "welfare" programs (which have been proven to be failures) to the "poor" is more important than protecting the weakest among us?

God CHOSE to give the gift of life to these women...if they are not prepared to accept it...then the answer is simple...CHOOSE TO ABSTAIN from committing the act that can produce the consequence of pregnancy.

We should be expecting and promoting personal responsibility and accountability instead of openly accepting the murder of our own...and it is for this reason alone that I will NEVER vote Democrat and neither should ANY other person who calls themself a CATHOLIC!
